Author Guidelines

Manuscripts submitted to Postmodernism: Indonesian Journal of Multidisciplinary Islamic Studies must be original, unpublished, and not under consideration in any other journal. The topic should be relevant to Islamic studies and free from plagiarism.

  • Manuscripts may be written in English or Indonesian and must be prepared using Microsoft Word.
  • The length of the manuscript should be between 5,000–8,000 words, including abstract, references, tables, and figures.
  • Citations and references must be managed using reference manager software (Zotero or Mendeley) in Chicago Manual of Style 17th edition (full note).

Manuscript Structure

Each manuscript must include the following components:

  • Title: Maximum 15 words, clear, concise, and reflective of the article content.
  • Author Information: Full name(s), affiliation(s), and email address.
  • Abstract: 150–200 words, including background, objectives, methods, findings, and implications.
  • Keywords: 3–5 words or phrases.

The manuscript should consist of: Introduction, Research Method, Results and Discussion, Conclusion, and References.

Section Guidelines

  • Introduction: Provides background, research context, literature review, and positioning of the study within existing research.
  • Research Method: Explains research design, procedures, instruments, data collection, and analysis in detail. For qualitative studies, include research setting, subjects, informants, and validity checking procedures.
  • Results and Discussion: Presents findings supported by data and analysis, interpreted using relevant theories and previous studies. Tables and figures may be used but must be explained clearly without duplication.
  • Conclusion: Summarizes key findings, provides closing statements, and may include recommendations and acknowledgments.
  • References: Must be written using Zotero or Mendeley in Chicago Manual of Style 17th edition (full note). At least 16 references are required, with 80% from reputable journals and 20% from other scholarly sources.

Manuscripts must follow the official template provided by the journal. The submission file should be in Microsoft Word format and uploaded through the journal submission system at:
