Every manuscript submitted to Madinia: Journal of Humanities and Social Sciences undergoes an initial screening conducted by the editorial team. This stage includes an evaluation of the manuscript’s alignment with the journal’s focus and scope, adherence to the author guidelines, and a plagiarism check using Turnitin or a comparable detection tool. Manuscripts that do not meet these preliminary requirements will be returned to the authors for revision or declined.
Manuscripts that pass the initial evaluation are then processed through a double-blind peer review system, ensuring that both authors and reviewers remain anonymous to maintain objectivity and fairness. Each manuscript is reviewed by at least two independent reviewers who possess expertise relevant to the subject area. Reviewers assess the scholarly quality, methodological rigor, depth of analysis, novelty, and overall contribution of the manuscript according to the criteria outlined in the Reviewer Assessment Form.
The review process involves structured communication between authors, reviewers, and editors to ensure the refinement and academic integrity of each submission. Section editors coordinate the review process and, based on the reviewers’ recommendations, issue editorial decisions—acceptance, revision, or rejection. Final decisions are discussed with the editorial board to ensure consistency with the journal’s publication standards.
Reviewers typically complete their evaluations within 3–4 weeks. The overall timeline from submission to final publication decision averages approximately 8 weeks, depending on the quality of revisions and the responsiveness of authors during the editorial process.
Madinia is committed to maintaining academic integrity, transparency, and rigorous editorial standards to ensure that every published article upholds high-quality scholarship and contributes meaningfully to the fields of humanities, social sciences, and Islamic studies.
