Peer Review Process

COMMUNA: Journal of Community and Local Wisdom applies a double-blind peer review process to ensure the quality, validity, and originality of published manuscripts.

Every manuscript submitted to the journal undergoes the following review stages:

  1. Initial Editorial Screening
The editor evaluates the manuscript to ensure its relevance to the journal’s focus and scope, compliance with author guidelines, and adherence to ethical standards, including plagiarism screening.

  2. Double-Blind Peer Review
Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are reviewed by at least two independent reviewers who are experts in the relevant field. The identities of both authors and reviewers are kept confidential throughout the review process.

  3. Review Decision
Based on reviewers’ evaluations, the editor makes one of the following decisions:

    • Accept

    • Accept with minor revisions

    • Revise and resubmit

    • Reject

  4. Revision by Authors
Authors are required to revise their manuscripts according to reviewers’ comments and submit the revised version within the specified time.

  5. Final Decision
The editor makes the final decision regarding publication after considering the revised manuscript and reviewers’ recommendations.

The peer review process is conducted objectively, transparently, and fairly, ensuring that all submitted manuscripts are evaluated solely on academic merit and contribution to knowledge.
