Abstract

Mosque prosperity means revitalizing the mosque according to its function. A prosperous mosque functions as a place of worship and a center of Islamic culture. However, the management of the Al-Mukhlisin mosque takmir in Ketawang, Gondang, Nganjuk has not yet understood its duties and responsibilities in prospering the mosque. This community service activity aimed to provide mentoring to the mosque takmir management in developing a mosque prosperity program. The mentoring used the Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach involving 17 participants consisting of takmir management, mosque youth, muslimat, and fatayat representatives. The results showed that the motivation of the assisted subjects was very good with 100% having high motivation in participating in the mentoring. Furthermore, 14 out of 17 assisted subjects or 82.35% understood the mentoring material. The ability of the assisted subjects to carry out their duties and functions in the mosque prosperity programs was quite good, with 15 subjects or 88.24% implementing programs according to their duties as takmir. This analysis indicates that this community service activity can be considered successful. Similar mentoring activities need to be continued and improved to optimize the function of mosques as centers of community activities
